Things to do:

Swaledale is a famous walking area with a wide variety to suit everybody starting from Park End's gates. Discover the lead mines of Swaledale and Arkengarthdale or enjoy a walk by the river to Reeth or Gunnerside with its working forge and mining museum. Or you might find one of the Dale's local hostelries for some sustenance. If you would like, arrange to be picked up and driven back to Park End.

For the less energetic, Park End's position in the narrowest part of England east of the Pennines make it a perfect base to visit attractions on either side of the country.

Take your pick of the weather and plan a full day out treating yourselves to the famous seafood at Whitby, or Wordsworth's Grasmere and the Lake District. Both are less than an hour and a half's drive away, with plenty of interesting places to see in between.

North Yorkshire is horse racing country with Catterick, Ripon, Thirsk, Wetherby and York to chose from. If you enjoy country sports try clay shooting or fly fishing locally. Perhaps you would like to see the local countryside from horseback. Let us arrange for you to spend two hours in the saddle. Our neighbours run the award winning Hazel Brow Farm just down the road in Low Row which is well worth a visit. We want you to get the most out of your stay at Park End so perhaps we can help by suggesting full or half day customised itineraries either by car or on foot.  At the end of the day return to Park End to relax before getting a flavour of the Dales at one of the excellent local restaurants and hostelries.
